Loop News – Two children were among four people killed in separate house fires in Guyana.

The Guyana Fire Service (GFS) reported that a fire broke out at a two story home at Silvertown, Liden at around 11:45 two nights ago.

When officers arrived, they found the house engulfed in flames and smoke.

A 12-year-old girl identified as Kayla and her aunt Cheryl Moore died in the fire.

The fire occurred as the Moores were celebrating Kayla’s birthday.

The home was reportedly set on fire by a male relative.

Silvertown residents apprehended the man and dealt him several blows before handing him over to police.

At around 5:20 yesterday morning, GFS officers responded to a blaze at Good Hope, Essequibo.

That fire claimed the lives of Sasha La Cruz and her seven-year-old son, Isha Wilson.
