Less than a year after the daring shooting death on a Coral Ark cruise, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has secured a guilty plea in the murder case.

Kadeem Edwards, 25, admitted to killing 27 year-old Joseph “Juba” James on the party boat on Independence Day (November 1) 2016.

High Court Justice Keith Thom presided over the matter which saw Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Anthony Armstrong accepting Edwards’ guilty plea to the capital offence Monday morning. He will remain behind bars at Her Majesty’s Prison while he awaits sentencing scheduled for December 1.

Edwards opened fired on James while they were aboard the Coral Ark which was filled with party-goers at sea. Two other attendees, Gagerton Gooch and Onika Simon, were hit by bullets fired by Edwards. He also pleaded guilty to wounding them with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
