ABLP Chairman On Turmoil Within Opposition UPP–CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHATS APP GROUP
Chairman of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP), EP Chet Greene, has expressed concern over the ongoing internal struggles within the opposition United Progressive Party (UPP), pointing to the resignation of key members as evidence of a deeper problem.
Speaking on Pointe FM over the weekend Greene referenced the phrase “60 million Frenchmen cannot be wrong” to emphasize that multiple departures from the UPP indicate widespread dissatisfaction with its leadership.
Greene noted that many former UPP members, in their exit, have singled out the chairman and broader leadership of the party as the root of the problem.
He highlighted new developments revealing that elected UPP MPs have reportedly faced threats of expulsion, which Greene described as alarming.
He stressed that MPs are vital to any political organization, serving as the “nucleus” and “glue” that holds it together. Such treatment of MPs, he argued, could spell disaster for the UPP.
Reflecting on UPP’s inner turmoil, Greene listed several negative traits allegedly associated with the party’s internal dynamics, including “vindication, hatred, disrespect, propaganda, and division.”
He further warned that if the UPP cannot maintain unity in opposition, their potential governance of the country could be disastrous.
“Heaven forbid that the Antigua electorate would put these people into office to run over the affairs of this country,” he stated.
When asked whether these divisions were visible before the last election, Greene confirmed that the signs had been brewing but had now reached a crescendo.

He described the UPP as a party held together only by a desire for power, lacking any philosophical foundation or vision for the country’s future.
Greene contrasted the UPP’s struggles with the unity and resilience of the ABLP, even in times of internal challenges. He pointed to Prime Minister Gaston Browne’s rise to leadership over former Prime Minister Lester Bird as an example of how the ABLP has managed to maintain unity and focus on national development despite differences.
Greene noted that the ABLP’s philosophy of empowering the people and representing their interests has allowed it to overcome challenges and remain a force for progress in Antigua and Barbuda.
Drawing further comparisons, Greene recalled that even when UPP Deputy Leader Sherfield Bowen left the ABLP to join the UPP, the Labour Party did not treat him with animosity or disrespect.
Instead, Bowen was allowed to return to politics without facing personal attacks, reflecting a stark contrast with the UPP’s approach to internal conflicts.
Greene underscored the importance of meritocracy within the ABLP, citing Prime Minister Browne’s ability to elevate individuals who had previously challenged him, including Sir Robin Yearwood and Sir Molwyn Joseph.

According to TABOR, Jamale Pringle is a GHOST Leader. This GUY talks CRAP at all times. we need a new OPPOSITION PARTY in Antigua.
This clown has nothing else to focus on? What is his ministry again? What has he brought to the table to improve out country?
This focus on thing is getting really old.
Tek Chet,UPP is not in power. Talk about why we can’t get water after 10 years and numerous millions spent on RO plants; what will be done to address the 220 million deficit; our roads are deplorable; All Saints Road falls in your constituency, part of it; have you spoken to Pixie about it? While you’re having ribbon cutting ceremonies, our country is dilapidated, derelict and looks like it did 30 years ago.
You say you’re the government, so governmen, and quit the UPP thing

@Junasas Sirvimbi, excellent suggestions. Imagine, a man of questionable character, questioning others? Just unreal.
I stand and remain A-political: As I hereby internalized the venting of the opportunistic quasi politician’s vapid rhetorical postulation, when, for convenient opportunities have cross-over for political expediency. It behoove me, to be of witness to the gumption of the gimmick of their pompous grandstanding bereft of intent or interest in the people’s mandate, to represent and bring home the bacon instead of: where is the beef? As is in the case of this orator without denial. What have he done for St.Paul’s: except for the painted white streak in Liberta and, the foreign investment of the ” People’s Empowerment Center ” There still remain the crumbling Medical Clinic, The bridge leading from Liberta into Table Hill Gardens, The pot holes moon-scape of the major roadway from “King Court’s Dock Yard” aka, (Nelson Dock Yard) to St. John’s; which is a national disgrace to traverse. And these are but a few of no concern for the elated MP to vicariously advocate his contempt! I beg to differ, even with my staid admiration for his persona, and oratory skills; and his familiarity to dub me “Mandingo” i, a brother in skin only, and not kind; to witness the wanton prostitution and, selling off of our patrimony in St. Paul’s valley; thus leaving us sandwiched like slices of brown meat between encapsulated white bread, with the loss of all elevated landscape, beach and waterfront, sold off to foreign interlopers. While our vaunted indomitable noble MP feign representative leadership of our constituency. I do solemnly beg to differ. Ah! But opportunity comes but once in a lifetime, eh!? AS so the story goes.
noy DAMANI TABOR did more than spill the beans on jtruth!!! the “CHAOS DEMON” from the pit of hell is responsible for the CESSPOOL UPP finds itself in. Lovell and Baldwin Spencer created that “CHAOS DEMON”and now them can’t control she! watta ting!
” those whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad.” 😅😅😅 confusion abound with UPP 🤣
Even Miss Knight attacking UPP and calling out their FAKE CONVENTION!!! Some SHADY THINGS def went down at that so-called “convention”. why the Cahriman vote came before the Leader vote?
Mek dis arrogant parrot continue with his UPP diatribe. ABLP’S problems are on the horizon. We don’t know when, and we don’t know where … but it’s coming without a shadow of a doubt.
And when their political pressure cooker lid eventually flies off, many UPP supporters will be more than ready to pounce like lions.
GUARANTEED! 😉
Believe it or not , the UPP leadership needs to repent for they bad things they have done yes that is a fact repent they need to publicly apologize for their lies and deceit done to the people of this Country Mr Taber is now a walking Wakie Talkie and is spilling the beans all over the place he is unstoppable with all the secrets of the party he is the best political blabber mouth in Antigua and is a very good public speaker I always felt that he will make a very good and a better Chief of Staff than Lionell Hurst because he is so widely knowledgeable I have not seen any in the line uo to take over from Hurst but Mr Taber will do an excellent job as he reported the UPP has become ungovernable he is such a great speaker and political activist so let’s see what happens Mr Taber has left and was backbone of the UPP which has become a paraplegic that is brain dead.
“…the UPP which has become a paraplegic that is brain dead.”
OH DEAR! THINGS THAT BAD? U SURE? BECAUSE PRINGLE ABOUT TO LAUNCH 10 NEW CANDIDATES…….U THINK THESE NEW CANDIDATES HAVE FAITH IN PRINGLE’S LEADERSHIT?
I want to know how many young people are actually members of UPP because it appears that all the young people are leaving or left. Hek even the ones that have been members long garling time leaving.
“BIG BURLY LAWYER WITH GREY BEARD AT THE DOOR SAYING VOTE PRINGLE, VOTE PRINGLE”
Don’t blame Mr. Tabor! He just spoke the truth…….Meanwhile People supporting bullies taking bout, they are exposing the party need to stop. They tried fixing it internally but there was no solution. If exposure causes them to reshuffle & change course,so be it.
I detest to say again, ppl left and every single one said the same thing it’s Giselle ! Giselle ! Giselle ! As they left they starts talking and she’s the elephant in the room.
Chet Greene, what has become of your friend from Trinidad. He was involved with FIFA and banished from the game for life.Where is Jack Austin Warner? Are you still the leader of the NOC IN ANTIGUA? You are a substantive Minister of Cabinet.Do you really need more money? Greed is not good. You are a greedy man.
Yes @ WHARF RAT, I remember this substantial fraud well, and isn’t any wonder that the Antiguan football team hasn’t done well since, because FIFA pulled the financial plug all those years ago.
Our politicians and politics needs cleaning up!
