Greenaway Family Lawyers Demand Swift and Decisive Action To Solve Killing

The Late Bruce Greenaway

Lake & Kentish, lawyers representing the family of the late Bruce Greenaway released a statement today on his killing.

Here is the full statement:

The family of the late Bruce Greenaway wishes to thank those persons in Antigua and Barbuda , the United States of America, and elsewhere who have expressed their condolences and support.

The family is preparing to bury their loved one but are undeterred in their quest for Justice. Attorneys at Law Kendrickson Kentish and Gail Christian have been retained to represent the family’s interests.

While his entire family is grieving, we must remember his two children who must live with the knowledge that their father’s life was brutally and most savagely taken for no just cause.

Their interests and well being must be secured, and appropriate legal remedies will be pursued in due course. Many witnesses have come forward to provide evidence of what they saw and heard on the last day that Bruce Greenaway was seen alive. We urge persons who have relevant evidence to provide the same to the family or to the police. We are all our brother’s keepers and we all have a stake in seeing that justice is done.

The family is encouraged that the Commissioner of Police has made contact with the family and publicly declared that the investigation is at an advanced stage. Nevertheless, we must remain engaged and  vigilant. Whilst we would not presume to direct the Investigators or the Office of the DPP we have knowledge of some of the evidence garnered thus far and we say that the quality of the evidence and the fact that the investigations are at such an advanced stage strongly vitiates against any call for an inquiry.

The pursuit of justice for Bruce is the pursuit of justice for each and everyone of us. More importantly, while we pursue justice for Bruce, we must all be temperate , accurate and fair in all public statements in this sensitive matter.

No one is above the Law and we are demanding that swift and decisive action be taken in respect of those against whom the evidence of wrong doing is markedly compelling
Keep that flame for justice alive.

  1. Well well well. I find this very disturbing. This man, according to the law enforcement broke curfew , defense force took him away, then he turns up murdered, while in their custody.

The poor family has been asking for the results of the findings of the investigation and no response .. the government keep saying, wait, be patient, we are working on it.

Are you working on it or trying to cover it up??

How long will this investigation take?
Why not at least give the immediate family some update?

Also there needs to be an independent inquiry. The police cannot investigate themselves.

Finally, social media pages for local Antiguans have been going crazy for the rights of Americans but funny enough.. only a small handful of people are demanding justice for our local citizen who was obviously brutally murdered.

How can you stand In solidarity. For something foreign when our very own local man was Murdered.

I see people posting saying their sons were born In America so it concerns them, when 99% of them only went their to have their babies on Medicaid then fly back to Antigua.

But for a man who was murdered where they are from, born and raised, they do not stand in solidarity with his local family.

Let me say this to Antiguans , we have a mentally to think anything that is American or Foreign is better than our local, or more worthy than our local.

This man was OUR SON of OUR SOIL and he murdered!

Before we protest and fight for the rights of America and their Americans, who won’t spit on us if we were on fire, let’s sweep around our own front door first!

Law Enforcement in Antigua like to get aggressive when you speak to them a kind of way, or you call them out. They like to beat up people when they feel they have been disrespected.

ANTIGUA NEEDS TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS MAN!

    THERE NEEDS TO BE ACCOUNTABILITY!

THERE NEEDS TO BE ANSWERS FOR HIS FAMILY.

    Condolences to his family.

I can’t even say RIP because look and how this man life was taken, then he was tossed away like nothing!

  2. To the family of this young man, don’t let your guards down. Keep going at those involved in the investigation and most importantly do not, and I repeat, do not trust the police when they say they are working on the case and bla bla bla. Delay of any results in that police force is the cooking up Of a cover up. Keep pushing! I am speaking from what we experienced with our loved one who was murdered about three years ago and ever so often the family is being told, “ we haven’t forgotten you we are still working on the case”. Working on a case you knew who the murderers were the very next day! And the then commissioner had the guts to go on public television saying that he had to get to the bottom of this case. Oh yeah, he did get to the bottom but it wasn’t that case.
I want to extend my condolences to the family of this young man. No one will ever understand what you are going through unless he has had this experience; it is not easy. Being silent means you are just as guilty as the one/ ones committing the crimes. Don’t let your hands be stained with innocent blood. JUSTICE!

  3. Where are the Black Power people in Antigua? Where are the Black Conscious people in Antigua? You are too tied up in other countries businesses. While your business is left unattended. This man was killed by someone while in custody. He was strangled says the autopsy report. His body was found floating at Indian Creek. My guess is that he did it unto himself. It has been 40 plus days since his body was found. There has been no arrests and or charges brought against anyone. Why is that? This matter would not and should not be swept under the carpet.Persons should be charged and be arrested for his MURDER.He was murdered and thrown into the bay in my opinion. However the smart tides of the day washed him ashore.Instead of out to deeper seas.Where he could not be found.God is in the midst of everything. We need to know who MURDERED this National.Let the chips fall where ever.It is taking much too long in my opinion.

  4. I JUST WANT TO SAY TO THE.FAMILY OF MY VERY VERY GOOD FRIEND BRUCE. JUNIOR. JUNGLE. DONT MATTER WHO AND WAT JUNGLE WAS. HE IS A CITERSON OF ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA. I WANT SHOUT OUT TO EVERY. PLEASE WE CANT LET OUR GUARDS DOWN. WE HAVE FIGHT AND FIGHT FOR JUSTTIST. WE CANT AFORD TO LET THIS GO UNDER THE CARPET. NO NO NO.HE HAS BEEN SO SO GOOD TO ME. THE LAST TIME JUNGLE WAS BY ME. I SAID TO HIM MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS GET HOME BEFORE CURFEW TIME. SEE YOU WHEN EVER I REOPEN MY RESTARANT.

OH HOW MY HEART MOURN FOR THIS YOUNG MAN AS THE DAYS. WEEKS. AND MONTHS GOES BY.
    R I P. FRIEND..

COME ON GET READY FOR THE STREETS.

  5. Antiguans need to stand up for their own. @ Fair Antigua, you made some great points. I see all these Antiguans talking about justice for the man Floyd .. and it’s sad, but we have our own battles here in Antigua. How can you not stand up for your fallen Antiguans .. we must do better.

Antiguans also feel foreign is better
In this case it’s like they affiliate more with American and this American man Than with their fellow Antiguans .. are we not good enough for our own nation, because we not foreign???

Condolences to Greenaway’s family and friends
