Granny found guilty of beating granddaughter to death

A trial has begun in the High Court for a woman accused of murdering her granddaughter in 2014.

Millicent Cornwall-Roberts allegedly beat 18-year-old Jael Thomas to death at their home in All Saints.

The Emergency Medical Services were called to the house around 3 am on September 22, 2014, and the teenager was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

The then 68-year-old grandmother was charged with murder two days later and has since pleaded not guilty to the charge in the High Court.
