The government says it is working with the Chairman of Global Ports Holding (GPH) along with two of his advisers to defend the deal in court.
Describing the case as “frivolous” the government says it intends to fight the case brought by the United Progressive Party (U.P.P.) Leader Harold Lovell.
Lovell is being accused of trying to retard the port project; acting as a lawyer, “he has filed unwarranted lawsuits against the Government.”
In notes circulated after Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting, the government denied statements it said Lovell made that a Judge of the High Court has determined that the lawsuits he filed have merit; “that untruthful claim was rejected by the lawyer.”
“There was no ex parte hearing. While the poorly argued and badly constructed pleadings submitted by the U.P.P. lawyer are indefensible, the Government’s lawyer would nevertheless arm himself, as any competent defense attorney should, with the appropriate responses in his submissions that are due in a few weeks.”
A trial date will likely be several months away.

Lovell is listening to the wrong people. He is surrounded by FAKE FRIENDS. No one to “keep it real” with him and let him know that no way in Halcyon he could ever become PM. Instead they tell him what he WANTS to hear as opposed to what he NEEDS to hear. He is wasting precious time that he will never be able to get back. He still has the PLM spirit deep in his bones.
