Governor General Awards Medals at National Championships Day 1

On Saturday, June 29, 2024, Day 1 of the National Championships being hosted by the Antigua and Barbuda Athletics Association at the YASCO Sports Complex, the Governor General was on hand to present medals to some of the winning athletes.

The Governor General, who has always been close to sports, was a former President of the Athletics Association, the National Olympic Committee, and many other Associations, including Badminton.

  1. This gladdens my heart, when I see our young and up and coming athletes being awarded medals for their achievements, prowess and endeavours.

    And kudos to the Governor General for handing out decorations that have no links or connections to the UK’S monarchy for once – and no “White” colonial suit in sight as well.
