Government to commission official autobiography of Sir Robin Yearwood

THRONE SPEECH:

My government acknowledges the contributions made by our citizens and residents and no less those who serve in the House of Representatives with an extended tenure as determined by the people who have repeatedly elected them to office.

My government therefore joins in extending special congratulations to the Honourable Sir Robin Yearwood for his successful re-election to the House for 10 unbroken occasions which, all being well in 2026, will culminate in half a century of representing the St. Phillip North constituency.

My government recognizes that this outstanding feat, which is rare among politicians in the 54-member Commonwealth of Nations, deserves to be chronicled for future generations to learn from.

Therefore, my government is determined to commission an official autobiography of Sir Robin Yearwood, with the expectation that it will be completed by February 2026.

My Government also acknowledges the accomplishments of two other long-serving Parliamentarians in the persons of the Honourable Sir Molwyn Joseph, who entered the political arena in 1984, and the Honourable Steadroy Benjamin, who entered in 1994. Both parliamentarians have served their constituencies for almost 40 and 30 consecutive years, respectively.

These parliamentarians have been able to connect with their electors, deliver tangible benefits to their constituencies, and work tirelessly on behalf of the nation.

There is no doubt that the new members of Parliament can learn valuable lessons from these fully matriculated and experienced members of the House of Representatives.

  1. Our National Park at Devils Bridge is a sham, scam and disgrace, except for what it presents through its natural flora and fauna, energy vortexes, meridian lines, multiverse of crossroads of the ether, Robin Yearwood should be ashamed, to call this a National Park. This area has four latrine size huts being passed off, as VENDORS BOOTHS with some porto_pottys serving as restrooms for tourists and visitors alike.

    • We the tax payers would be footing that bill. Do you think those cheap fat bastards would dig into their extremely deep pockets and foot that bill.

  2. He needs to explain how power generation was handed over to a single family in this country… A Monopoly!!!!!! That alone, to me, negates any form of good that might have been done… the systematic deterioration of the finances of APUA over the years to a point where a single family, whose only client by the way is the same APUA, is allowed to own power generation in this country. Every single Antiguan make these people rich every month..when like WIOC, the people could have had a stake…

  3. What a complete waste of taxpayer’s money. If this useless redman wants biography, let him fund it himself with his own money.

  4. They should write in his autobiography how he managed to accumulate such vast wealth in a small island like Antigua, as a testament to young Antiguans how not to thief their way to riches. The labour government thinks that their ministers have contributed so much to Antigua that most of them should be afforded the title of ‘Sir’. But we know that Antigua has contributed far more to them than them to Antigua. But as the scriptures say, naked I came into the world, and naked shall I return.
I guess labour people are interested, but the rest of us won’t spent a cent on this autobiography.

  5. Chapter One of this Biography: If Christopher Columbus came back to Antigua since 1493.He would say that area of Willikies looked the same as it did back then. Not one darn thing has change. Robin The Hood, has been the Representative for over 40 years plus. What a darn shame.
