Government says fully vaccinated people must still wear masks in Antigua & Barbuda

The government said it was too risky to allow fully vaccinated people to go out in public without masks.

Last week, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said people fully vaccinated against Covid-19 do not need to wear masks or practice social distancing indoors or outdoors, except under certain circumstances.

Government spokesman Melford Nicholas explains the Antigua position.

  1. This will certainly make people rush to go and get vaccines! After all, what do the idiots at CDC know when we have our own highly intelligent experts with all their phds in infectious diseases to guide us.

    Just like advising us to lock down A&B at 12 noon with a handful of cases just because the disease was raging thousands of miles away in Europe and North America and we had 3 whole deaths between Apr and Nov 2020 which decimated our population with morgues and ERs overcome with cases. Just highly brilliant folks in charge. Kudos and f the CDC.

    • You are obviously ignorant to what is happening. Not because the CDC may have all the medical experts around means that they know or are telli g you the truth. Some of the experts are paid by private co.pany.

      The government took the correct stand. The CDC said they following the science and the science show use statistical data that is coming from post vaccination from which there is little. One of the good things for us, we cannot follow the trend of an island that is about the same size and population as Antigua and that island is the most vaccinated country in the world and they are having a COVID spike and now have to go back into lockdown. One of the reason is believe to be because the lift the restrictions. See link below. That is date for science, which we shod follow.

  2. Maybe the idiot members of the Antigua govt should try to bribe people again with thousand dollars worth of KFC or Epicurean groceries. That’s right up their M.O. along with murder and creative enrichment schemes.
