You see Beef. Playing devils advocate one can say, who gives government the authority to give away my tax dollars to anyone person. How do they chose who to give it to. Did this family vote for the ABLP or what. What about my friend who lost his house in a fire and was not insured, he is still out of a house. One can make so many arguments. But it seems that Antiguans love FREEBEES. And I always say there is no such thing as a free lunch. Someone has to pay the bill. But when we have to raise taxes we all complain. You can never please everyone.
But I’m happy for the family, to be that fortunate to have been given such an expensive gift. Let me play another devils advocate. If someone comes now to them and offer them $200k for the house. Are they allowed to sell it? Food for thought. If you get a gift such as this from government, can you sell the gift?

The government is obligated to assist whomever genuinely needs help and without bias too.
