Goodwin Remembers His Daughter As His Brightest Star

Bruce Goodwin, Father of deceased Taitu Goodwin, described his daughter as the brightest of her generation.

“She was the greatest love of my life,” he said.

Taitu who was born Antiguan and went to the Antigua Girls’ High School. She later moved to Anguilla, where her mother had resided, where she served as a teacher in the education system.

According to Bruce, Taitu followed her passion and pursued a degree in law at the University of Cardiff in Wales and at the University of Lyon in France. She furthered her education with obtaining her masters in trade and investment law from the St John’s University in New York.

She was also the winner of the 2012 Miss Anguilla Beauty Pageant. Bruce added that she was the best and brightest among his eleven children.

He accuses her ex boyfriend of murdering her and outlined that he had been molesting her in the past. Bruce concluded that he is an advocate for the death penalty and wants that his daughter’s killer be hanged by the neck.

“Once more I am gonna end by saying I have always been an advocate of the death penalty for murderers. It may not be 100% effective as a deterrent but it is still a deterrent and if our judiciary system had not gone soft on murderers and criminals, many of those who have died at the hands of these demonic personalities would still be alive today and so I think it would be for my beloved Taitu”
“I am calling on the judiciary to return to the days when they were tough against demonic perpetrators like the brutal murderers we have strutting around in the Caribbean thinking oh I can do what I like with people’s lives and only spend a few years in jail and come out and walk around and be happy as if nothing had happened –  they must be hanged by their necks until they are dead. That is what I am calling for convicted murderers once more. “
“I want to see the perpetrator brought to justice, everyone knows who he is. He has confessed I understand, everyone knows who he is and I want him brought to justice and justice for me is  that he is hanged by his neck until he is dead.”

  2. Ambassador: our entire Antigua national family supports you in this time of pain and despair. She was beautiful and smart, for sure, a beautiful Antiguan. I wish she would have stayed in Antigua. May God bless you and your family. Regardless of our political differences here, we Antiguans all come together during times of tragedy.

  3. The heart of Manis wicked. No restraining order can prevent an evil person from doing what they want to do. My condolences. Such a bright mind gone to waste.

  4. I do agree with B.Goodwin on the death penalty. Too many Caribbean lives have been taken and the murderer gets 5 years and then be free to kill again.

  5. @vodka you’re clearly drunk to be asking questions like these according to @caribbeanLady none of that can prevent anyone from trying to destroy you once a plan is formulated in their head. Thing is this young lady probably never thought he would take her life. which one of us would ever think someone who once loved us would take ours can we read minds?
