‘Good Humans’ on a mission to locate and clean all 365 beaches in Antigua

Good Humans 268 Inc.” Aims to Clean All 365 White, Sandy Beaches Across the Country

REAL NEWS: “Good Humans 268 Inc.,” a newly formed non-profit organization, is
pledging to continue its mission to clean all of the country’s claimed
365 white, sandy beaches.

Joshuanette Francis, the organization’s founder, reports that several
beaches have already been tackled, but circumstances have put the
project on hold.

However, she says, the aim, still, is to complete this task – and in a
very short time, once possible.

Francis says she has done a tour of the island and, so far, has located
250 beaches.

The mission, now, is to visit all of them, she says – and, in the
process, she hopes she will stumble upon the others that make up
the 365. She notes, however, that many of the areas that locals
classify as beaches actually are not.

While the beaches visited so far were very beautiful and serene,
Francis says that a few – about 30 percent of them – are not in the
best state and require a bit of cleaning.

She says that people should be more responsible about disposing of
their waste when using the beach. To this end, she suggests they
carry along garbage bags, or other receptacles that can hold waste,
and then take their trash back home with them.

Leaving unsecured garbage on the beach – where it can get into the
water – could have dire consequences on the environment and
marine life, she warns.

According to Francis, even on the island’s hiking trails, there is a
proliferation of garbage, which, she says, is just despicable.

    • “When done”? Really? That’s all? I thought you were going to offer to help “when done” to keep the project going. The focus isn’t on the number of beaches, but rather to keep the beaches clean, whether it is 365 or 3. Go and help!

        • @Focus…You want me to come and help clean up subben whey ay you narsy self do…AWDFYT you know these mess in question is not from the beach but from narsy people like you right?

  1. this is great. but i wanna see a documented proof of each and every single one of these “365” beaches cause to this day i havent found them all yet

  2. We need more good humans making a difference like this. Congratulations on opting to step up to the plate, and thank you for your service to this country.

  3. If you tell a lie over and over it eventually becomes the truth..lol.

But on a serious note, whether we have one beach or 365 beaches, it’s our responsibility to keep the Beaches clean. As a matter of fact, that goes to every part of Antigua as well, even the city that we do business.

  4. How can we join the cause? Is there a number we can call to be apart of this?

Such a wonderful idea, my family and I would love to help…..

  5. I have always had doubts about those 365 Beaches on an Island of 108 sq.miles.The person who made up that story for Tourism was genius in doing so.Could someone point me where to find that lists of 365 Beaches on Antigua.

    • Stay under the rusty plywood or galvanize like the rat you are. Run your mouth instead of helping show why you cant rise above the GUTTER

  6. A very good and commendable move Good Humans 268. Thank you. Will the “high and mighty” Gaston larger-than-life Browne take credit for this? Enquiring minds would like to know.

  7. The beaches in the CrabbeHill area have a similar initiative happening with locals to keep that beach clean.

  8. Nice, I would like to sign up to help let me know when and where.

  9. GOOD HUMANS 268 INC.
As Gaston goes to Europe seeking ideas for making Antigua and Barbuda a “Fine Dinning” tourism attraction.
I really hope you can build this into a sustainable organization.
Having been involved with some friends on a similar project in the past including planting trees to stop erosion.
Within months the coconut plants were gone and the beach was as filthy as we initially found it.
Unlike ourselves, you are able promote your work on social media to get others involved and build a sustainable organization.
Be it 265 beaches more or less, we were blessed with a natural phenomena. It is now our calling card.
I hope your efforts will be appreciated and inspire others to do similar things.
St. John’s is filled with abandoned building, filthy streets with garbage and open gutters.
Thanks for tackling the beaches, hoping those who drive around with tinted windows will see fit to join you; and the Government will also recognize it’s time to take care of it’s only assets

  10. @. Average condoms per beach, 16. Mostly Magnums. I collect and reuse them. Pre-lubricated and free, can’t beat that…
