Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, the Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, criticized religious institutions for their teachings on the afterlife during the recent Caribbean Community (CARICOM) crime symposium in Trinidad and Tobago.
Gonsalves emphasized the importance of a comprehensive approach to addressing crime, including involving families, schools, and churches.
He humorously remarked that he is often urged to go to heaven by being scared of going to hell whenever he attends church, and urged religious leaders to improve their preaching in order to capture the attention of younger generations.
Gonsalves also highlighted the significance of community groups in the fight against crime.

So we stop forcing our kids to go to Sunday school cause we want them to make up their own mind then when they make up their own mind to do something we don’t like it’s the church’s fault? Ha! According to your own words the church is doing what it was put here to do, inform humanity of the choices before it and the consequences and benefits of each. Can’t pin this one on the church Mr Ralph. Now go do your job…
The Church’s preaching heaven/ Hell – has nothing whatsoever to do with rebellious delinquent rebels some people rest in the World. Although the Church’s are filled with hypocrisy- it’s parents that should tear their children. Many don’t want to hear about God- why do you’ll need help from the so called Church’s? These days there are “Human Rights “ to everything- even it means going against the established rules of the almighty- just be politically correct and be acceptable to society. We are reaping what we sow-Godless rebellious societies- filled with materialism and greed
The church never encourage criminal activities. Children who committed crimes should face the full force of the law. If a child take a gun go into a school and kill innocent children that child should be tried before a judge and jury as an adult. The world is changing and more young people committing crime therefore the court need to put down strick Laws to deal with that. People keep blaming the parents and not not the child committing the crime. We need Law abiding citizens for a peaceful community
