The Ministry of Education and Sports recently broke ground on Phase 1 of the Golden Grove School Expansion Project. The initial phase of the project will see the construction of a new classroom wing of the school with a student capacity of 90 students. The ceremony was attended by Hon Daryll S. Matthew, Minister of Education and Sports and Parliamentary Representative of the St. John’s Rural South Constituency, and the Hon. Steadroy Cutie Benjamin representing the Prime Minister. Phase 2 will see the second floor of the building completed with an additional three classrooms, and Phase 3 will see a renovation of the existing school compound.

I believe people need to be educated as to the difference between Parliament and Cabinet and Ministers. Parliament has been dissolved. Does that mean that the ministers have no more responsibility, and the Prime Minister is no longer the prime minister? Who runs the country in the meantime. Who accounts to whom? I mean is the ship of state without a Captain at this moment. So, God forbid, if we have a crisis tomorrow, who is in charge? Certainly not Lovell. Is all the power back in the hands of the GG? People are making silly statements and I think they need to be educated.
