Global Experts Conclude 19th Caribbean Internet Governance Forum with Focus on AI Governance

The 19th Caribbean Internet Governance Forum (CIGF) and 2nd Caribbean Youth Internet Governance Forum (CYIGF) wrapped up their annual meetings, focusing on global digital governance under the theme “Evolving Caribbean Internet Governance Priorities for Sustainable Development.” 

 

 

Distinguished leaders like Amandeep Singh Gill, UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology, emphasized the need for comprehensive AI governance. 

 

 

The CIGF, established in 2005, maintains its multi-stakeholder approach to tackle internet governance challenges. 

 

 

 

The event also discussed equitable digital opportunities, youth participation, and the evolving digital landscape. 

 

The forum revised its Caribbean Internet Governance Policy Framework to reflect technological advancements.(Observer)
