Damaged drain cover Leads to Leg Injury Requiring Stitches for T-shirt Mas reveller

12

A young girl’s unfortunate accident at the Antigua Carnival left her with a leg injury that required stitches.

She fell into a drain during the festivities, leading to a deep 8cm wound.

The incident triggered emotions of sadness and disappointment, with the girl expressing her frustration at the situation.

The quality of medical care she received also came into question, as she criticized the ER doctor for a “botched” stitch job.

However, she later thanked other medical professionals for fixing her injury.

Regrettably, it was revealed that another person from England suffered a similar fate, adding to concerns about safety measures during the carnival.

    • That is a dumb question? Have you tripped, bump your toes, misstep?

Your question is suggesting this woman/person intentionally walked onto something she knows will cause her serious injuries.

Is there literally no empathy left in the minds of my Antiguans?

    • Its for years now the people in authority knows the capital city is very hazardous to walk much more so to jumping and jamming and only just last week i saw contractors trying to repair drains and sidewalks in towm. It shameful knowing we are a major tourist destination

  1. This is pure carelessness on the part of the government. Everyone knows about these drain covers. Why does someone have to get hurt before they get the necessary attention? We have a serious aversion to maintenance in this country.

  2. Thank GOD you are alìve…if you had died wherw would your eternal soul be….there is more to life than just the eyes or what you can
    see….

  3. Yup that’s why I always walk looking at the ground occasionally. Might dodge something bad or find something good 😊

  4. And that is one of the many reasons I avoid the city. It is run down, it is stink, it is congested, and after many years, nothing meaningful is being done to address the decay of Saint John’s city.

  5. That’s what happens when you have a carnival in a dilapidated city like St Johns. Smdh.

Clean up the damn place GOA.
And this is not the last, because the ARG have some serious problems as well and events will be held there. And don’t mention the roads!

Antigua is health hazard at the moment, so this comes as no surprise. Smdh.

  6. This is what happens after 40 years of Birdism and Browneism. I’m fed up of hop, skipping and jumping around, then looking down as I walk around St John’s.

I hope the lady makes a full recovery.

How on earth do the blind and severely disabled get around?
