Girl Guides receive donation from Halo

The Antigua and Barbuda Girl Guides Association received $5,000 from the Halo Foundation as a donation towards their attendance at the 38th World Conference of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). The meeting will take place in Cyprus from July 26th - 31st, and will address — amongst other topics — financial challenges of the institution post-pandemic. The cheque was handed over by Patron of the Antigua and Barbuda Girl Guides and President /Founder of the Halo Foundation, Her Excellency Lady Williams (left). Representing the Girl Guides were Mrs. Denise Matthias-Thomas (Unit Leader with the First Antigua unit) and Susan Sharp, Chief Commissioner (right).

The Antigua and Barbuda Girl Guides Association recently received a generous donation of $5,000 from the Halo Foundation.

The funds will support their participation in the upcoming 38th World Conference of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) in Cyprus.

The conference, scheduled from July 26th to 31st, will address various topics, including the financial challenges faced by the institution in a post-pandemic world.

Her Excellency Lady Williams, the Patron of the Antigua and Barbuda Girl Guides and President/Founder of the Halo Foundation, presented the donation during a cheque handover ceremony.

Mrs. Denise Matthias-Thomas and Susan Sharp represented the Girl Guides at the event.
