Reports are that a 15-year-old male was stabbed by a 17-year-old villager while he was on his way to the Antigua Recreation Grounds (ARG) on Tuesday, July 19, at about 8:40 p.m.

Further reports are that the teen was in the company of his friends when he saw his attacker with a bottle in his hand, walking on George Street.

Allegedly the older teen threw the bottle at him and in return the victim threw a stone back. It was at this point that the attacker reportedly ran up to him and stabbed him several times about the body with a Knife.

The Gray Hill teen sustained injuries to his head and left arm and a stab wound to the left side of his abdomen and left knee.

The 15-year-old was rushed to the hospital where he was treated.

Reports are that the Police conducted a search in the area for the suspect; however, he had already gone to the station by himself.

The teenager reportedly gave the Police a different version of the events, claiming that it was the younger teenager and his friends who rushed at him with stones while he was walking on the George Street bridge.

He allegedly admitted to pulling the knife from his waist and inflicting the multiple injuries to the other teen.

The teenager was reportedly subsequently arrested for the offence and taken to St. John’s Police Station to be taken before the Juvenile Justice Board. — REAL News
