  1. World War One 1914 – 1918 also known as The Great War or The War To End All Wars. Germany was allied with Austria Hungary and in 1914 the hair presumptive to the Habsburg throne Archduke Franz Ferdinandand and his Wife Sophie Duchess of Hohenberg were assassinated by a Serbian Nationalist. France and Great Britain were allied with Serbia and just like that the fuse for trench warfare was lit and 40 million people lost their lives..In that war fighting on the side of the Germans was an Austrian Lance Corpral in his mid 20s named Adolph Hitler. That soldier would survive the war with honors earning the Iron Cross First Class for bravery. The soldier like many Germans at the time was not content with the allies victory and believed Germany was betrayed by Jews and communist. That anger led to the rise of Fascism and The National Socialist German Workers’ Party aka NAZI movement which Adolph Hitler will become German Chancellor for 12 years and dragged the world into a second World War where over 85 million including 6 million Jews.. Allied Forces mainly Great Britain, France, The United Stated and Soviet Russia fought a brave and bloody war against the Germans lasting six years defeating and pushing the Germans back to their homeland which led to the suicide of Chancellor Adolph Hitler and the end of World War 2. 127.2 million soldiers fought with the allies including 16,000 Caribbean soldiers from the British Colonies.

  2. As far as I know the members of the west indies regiment never fought in any war, most of those who went to Egypt ect were just used as auxiliary support, like digging trenches and doing chores the white British soldiers didn’t do.
