Gareth King has been sentenced to pay $30,000 in restitution to a bar owner after severely injuring him in an altercation at the bar last year.
The incident occurred when King used a cutlass to strike the complainant on his right arm, resulting in tendon and bone damage.
Despite the victim’s medical expenses exceeding $60,000 and the loss of full wrist function, King initially pleaded not guilty.
However, in April 2023, he changed his plea to guilty, leading to the recent sentencing.
The bar owner had to close his business due to the injury’s severity. (OBSERVER)
