Game Fest Finals Postponed Amidst Youth Violence Surge

1

Due to a recent surge in youth violence, the highly-anticipated Game Fest finals have been postponed, prioritizing the safety and well-being of all attendees, participants, and staff.

While this disappoints dedicated finalists, it’s essential to clarify this is a temporary delay, not a cancellation.

The decision followed careful consideration, including monitoring the situation and consulting with local authorities and community leaders.

The organizers are determined to provide a top-tier gaming experience within a secure environment and have rescheduled the finals for October 22.

They will collaborate with local authorities, community organizations, and stakeholders to address youth violence and enhance safety.

Troubling incidents, including students engaging in violent confrontations with weapons, have raised concerns.

The severity of the issue was underscored by distressing videos showing students brandishing weapons and a student subjected to physical assault, stabbing, and robbery.

Safeguarding the younger generation is imperative.

Game Fest organizers are aligned with the community in addressing this issue and are committed to fostering a positive and secure environment for participants.

  1. Imagine this. In this 2×4 country. This is what we have come to.

I remember when a past administration took decisive actions against youth violence back then, this present administration and some supporters (then in opposition) had the world to say (oh, they are criminalizing our children……).

They then became government and passed some shit law (in my opinion) and to date have not even build out what the very law calls for and we wonder why. Shaking my damn head.

It is true that there is problem with some families. That is known but then what? What comes next for the security of the society?

They say it is a small amount of ‘children’ that is the problem.

Imagine if it was not a ‘small amount of children’.
