With just one -week left before she starts to train in preparation to make the Jamaican Championship team for the 5th time, Olympic Gold Medalist Mrs. Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce has chosen Antigua and Barbuda as her ideal vacation destination.

Mrs. Fraser Pryce, alongside her husband and one-year old son arrived at the Sir Vere Cornwall Bird International Airport yesterday (Mon), for a weeklong visit at one of the island’s five-star all-inclusive resorts.

Sports Tourism Officer in the Ministry of Tourism, Ms. Karen Joseph officially met the World-Renowned sprinter and presented her with a welcome package on behalf of the nation of Antigua and Barbuda.

“Mrs. Pryce could’ve chosen anywhere in the world to relax prior to the start of her training regiment, but she chose Antigua and Barbuda and that speaks volumes of our destination because she’s a resident of one of our beautiful Caribbean islands,” remarked Ms. Joseph.

On this her first visit, Mrs. Pryce says she’s opting to tour the island, catch up with her pastor and a few of her church colleagues currently on island in Ministry and she would love the opportunity to visit one of the nation’s schools to speak to aspiring athletes.

Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce will be preparing to not only make an appearance but to win Gold in the IAAF World Championships in Doha next year.
