Four Charged After Shootout With Police

The Royal Antigua and Barbuda Police Force has formally charged four men who were involved in a robbery and a shootout with one of its officers. The incident occurred on April 1st.

According to reports, the officer was at the time home when he noticed strange men walking around the yard of his neighbour’s house.

The officer proceeded to investigate the men’s activity. One of the assailants then opened gunfire on the officer; he then returned shots before the four men fled the scene.

The four men who range in age from 23 to 28 years were jointly charged with shooting with intent to murder a Police Officer and larceny.

When the homeowner arrived on the scene; evidence of forced entry was visible and jewellery worth over $3000 was missing.

A pair of slippers and other pieces of evidence were left on the scene when the four fled the area.

The four accused men will make the first court appearance this week.
