Forty Talented Students Complete the 2109 ICT Cadet Program

2

Forty talented students will receive certificates for their successful completion of the (6) month ICT Cadet Programme (ICTP). The ICTP functions loosely as a technical trade school. Offering students, the opportunity to gain valuable 21st Century knowledge for employment and entrepreneurship in the technology and graphic design fields. Students who have completed secondary school are encouraged to apply for the next cycle beginning in September by visiting our Facebook page (ICT Cadet Program) or visiting our office in Coolidge. The Programme is funded by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.

ICT Cadet Programme delivers much-needed skills training for the workforce. Students ages 16+ are taught practical technology skills, which are highly sought after in today’s job market. The participants receive instruction in two of four key areas: Cisco Networking, Microsoft productivity, Programming and New Media/Graphic Design and Photography.

The Cisco program teaches hardware repair, software installation, upgrades, troubleshooting and repair. The Microsoft course teaches students advanced skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint. The Programming course teaches students HTML, CSS, JavaScript, video and photography editing. The New Media/Graphic design course teaches principles of photography and the use of the Adobe suite of products. All the skills taught in these programs compliment business owners who require employees with the latest skill sets. We encourage local businesses who are seeking skilled and talented individuals to contact us for opportunities to hire the participants for internships, in both the short and long term.

  1. Congrats to all the cadets! Do not rest on your laurels. Keep advancing your knowledge and skills.

  2. Definitely we cannot be heading towards building an economic powerhouse if some persons are not welcomed onboard. Kudos must given to the govt for the cadet program which seems to be geared for the young people. However, it would be great for a program to be introduced for persons who are 40+ also. We can get an economic powerhouse house if everyone is included
