A former IT technician at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for fatally stabbing a former soldier during an altercation in Villa on July 24, 2020.
Kenworth Charles was found guilty of murder by a unanimous verdict from a jury of nine about five months ago.
Despite his claim of the incident being an accident due to intoxication, Justice Colin Williams imposed the 16-year imprisonment.
However, Charles’s time on remand will be deducted since he has already been in prison since the offense occurred.
