Kenworth Charles, a former IT technician at the Mount St John’s Medical Centre, remains incarcerated, awaiting his sentencing for murder.

In late February 2022, Charles was found guilty of killing Fitzroy Robins, a retired soldier, in an incident that occurred on July 24, 2020, in Bay Street, Villa.

Charles, who is in his late 30s, stabbed Robins to death after an altercation that started when Charles refused to pay for beers he had taken from a woman’s cooler. Robins, who arrived at the scene as Charles was leaving, asked him to pay for the drinks, which he did.

The accused did not return to the location until the day of the murder when he went looking for Robins, who was socializing as he typically did.

An argument ensued, leading to a scuffle, during which Charles reportedly stabbed Robins multiple times with a knife.

Charles claimed that he was under the influence of alcohol and was attacked by Robins, but the jury found him guilty.

The convict was scheduled to be sentenced on March 22, but the hearing was postponed until May 5.
