Condolences to the family of H.E. Pat Lewis, a fine gentleman, scholar, and dedicated Antiguan diplomat.
It was a pleasure working as part of his team in the Ministry of F.A. Economic Development, Tourism & Energy. A committed man, honorable, with a big heart for his country & his people. Blessed with a long good life of service, All hail to you dear Pat, a humble servant of the people!
My condolences are extended to his family!
At the same time at the age of 85, I am wondering if he was on the nation’s payroll as an active Ambassador in the United States….
Presently we have many elderly persons on the frontline of the nation’s affairs suppressing young people. It is full time that the govt make these elders work behind the scenes as consultants or advisors and give the younger ones a chance
Bluddy Bloke, I concur. All parts, especially last part.
You people are anyways so cold even in death. What have you contributed by your lip service? Money is always an envious pursuit for many of you, bloggers. His contributions to his country was tremendous. He is deserving of all the honours bestowed upon him.
Once an Ambassador, you would be referred to as an Ambassador. They still referred to Lie No Hell,as Ambassador.
Dr. Pat Lewis was an honorable gentleman. He served our country with distinction, never seeking favors or privileges. We had a good relationship through the late David Fernandez. We would meet up for fungi and pepper pepperpot at David’s house.
I ran into him in the departure lounge at VC Bird Intl Airport right the lockdown and asked him why he didn’t use the VIP service. He said that he was no longer interested in that privilege. He’s now a private citizen. His humility and modesty define his character. Substance without frills.
Rest in peace, Sir.
I join with others in recognizing Dr. Patrick Lewis service to Antigua, the Diplomatic core and as an academia.
The work of our Diplomatic core is and important and a significant one and Dr. Lewis must be commented for the sterling work he did representing Antiguas interest abroad.
May he rest in peace and my heartfelt condolences to his bereaved family and friends.
