Food packages being distributed in 2020

Close to 2000 food packages are being distributed to the needy across Antigua, Social Transformation Minister Samantha Marshall has said.

She said the distribution of the emergency care packages is part of the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Marshall said the packages which are being distributed are in value not less than EC$ 150 but more in case of families.

“We are trying our best to ensure that we give a wholesome package,” she said.

In light of concerns, she assured that “everyone is treated the same, we try to make sure that we meet all the needs.”

  2. Where are the gloves and masks. For those handling the packages.I thought it was mandatory to wear those items in PUBLIC.What are the contents of those packages.Just hoping it is nutritious foods.

  3. Why are the bags with food on the ground?

Life building material should be handle with a degree of reverence…. food is not just a commodity it is life sustaining material.

  4. How do they determine who the needy are? Why am I seeing Minister Marshall?
This should be handled by community groups who know the needy in the communities. ABLP makes a mess of everything.

  5. @KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOUR

Knight you are the BIGGEST FOOL in Antigua. Also You criticize everything with this Government. At least support an INITIATIVE that this Government put on the table. I do not know how you can live with yourself. You need to get a life / Wife . Show some EMPATHY. Great INITIATIVE by ABLP.

  6. @ MELCHISEDEC

You complain too much. At least the ABLP is doing something under these trying times / Crisis.

    • @rupert Mann

Food and water are sacred and must be treated a certain way.

And you wonder why you are so sickly. No respect for the material that sustains life.

You may not understand it now but consider Africans prayed before they harvest or cut a tree for fuel….

  7. So they’re going to deliver food to people no gloves no mask, I hope these person leave them out in the sun for a few hours, next thing ppl getting Covid from these food handlers. Yes I said it!!!!!

  8. We had a big truck come to try and deliver a food package to our villa in Hodges Bay and they only gave us 3 bags of different groceries and a meat selection. The truck was too wide to get up our driveway so we had to walk to the gate and carry the groceries back ourselves. What a joke. So 3rd world….

    • Walking is a very good thing. Those of you who are obese need to do so more.I had to walk from my house to the end of my driveway.Wow and that is an issue.LOL
