Community Update: Fogging Schedule in Antigua from March 18th to March 22nd, 2024
The Central Board of Health has announced a crucial update regarding the Mosquito Control Program aimed at tackling the adult Aedes aegypti Mosquito population.
The Vector Control Unit will be conducting fogging operations in specific areas of Antigua from March 18th to March 22nd, 2024.
The fogging schedule is as follows:
Monday, March 18th – Friday, March 22nd:
4:30 am: Ovals, St. John’s City, Dredge Bay, Yorks, Michael’s Village, Point Community, Villa Community, Old Runaway, West Bus Station, Barrymore Compound, Fort James.
4:30 pm: Browne’s Avenue, Martin’s Village, Top Ottos, Lower Ottos.
It is essential for the public to take note of the following important points:
Respiratory Precautions: Individuals with respiratory illnesses are advised to take necessary precautionary measures during fogging operations.
Motorist Caution: Motorists are urged to exercise caution in the areas where fogging is taking place.
Weather Impact: In the event of inclement weather, such as rain or high winds, fogging operations will be suspended. Fogging will resume on the next available day until all designated areas are covered.
Mosquito Prevention: Residents are strongly encouraged to take proactive measures to prevent mosquito breeding on their premises and to protect themselves from mosquito bites.
