Loop News – The St Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Office has placed the country under a Flash Flood Watch.

The alert was issued as a tropical wave is expected to bring heavy winds and rain to the country from tonight.

The Met Service said rainfall accumulations of 50-100mm, with isolated higher amounts in mountainous areas, are possible within the next 48 hours.

“Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should exercise caution,” the Met Service stated.
