It is clear as crystal that UPP is not ready to govern this country.
The writing on the wall shows clearly that if UPP continue in the vein that they are going, the party will implode. The dwindling of their membership certainly says alot.
The departure of Hon Anthony Smith should not have happened. It is a shame & disgrace that UPP allowed their political enemy, ABLP, to walk into their political camp & hijacked Hon Anthony Smith Jr, a soldier who was viewed as a bright prospect for the UPP political organization.
Several months ago the same happened with the Hon Dwayne George. It’s a matter of time that other members will do the same thing similar to what Cleon Athill did also.
Obviously, something is wrong within the UPP’s camp.
If we look back, history has shown us that as the main opposition party, they have tried several strategic moves to dethrone the Labour party but unfortunately they have failed miserably. The metamorphosis from PLM to UNDP to UPP, from LUMP to FAITHFUL NATIONALS, etc and yet still they can’t get it right.
So the question is what is it that UPP is doing wrong? Ofcourse, if the top is slack then the bottom will be slack also. Obviously, UPP is focusing their energies in the wrong direction.
In addition, getting bad advice seems to be another factor that is causing their downfall..
As the main opposition party, it is full time for UPP to carryout a full introspection & clean up their mess.
The introspection should look at (1) the rhetoric from the talk shows that is influencing some members in the organization (2)those members who are been devalued in the organization and (3) the radical policies they are implementing which are not sitting too well with their members especially the younger ones..
UPP’s mission is skewed. Using hate, vendetta & lies as their main ammunition to destroy the Labour party is definitely proving futile. Clearly, it can be seen that PM Browne & ABLP administration is absolutely several steps ahead of the political game.
Democracy is working well.
The stones that UPP is refusing may not become the head corner stones for ABLP but certainly, they will play a pivotal role in the ABLP organization.

Absolutely, if the top slack the bottom will be slack. UPP lacks the vision. They are a bunch failures and have more cough than cold. Anthony Smith made the best decision of his life.
Anthony Smith’s leaving UPP has less to do with the failures of UPP and more to do with his selfishness and greed. Gaston should listen to what he said in the past about him and the Labour Party. Politicians should have conviction and loyalty and not just change parties to get rich. Gaston appears desperate and hungry for power and will do anything to hold on to it.
Anthony Smith may have just signed his political death certificate as he now has to run on the labour ticket and win his seat. Will the people in All Saints vote for a turncoat hypocrite? We shall see.

Dwayne George, Ms. Imhoff, Driftwood, Namba Adam’s, the ex policeman who they bad played to put in Shawn Bird and the list goes on and on. They have all said basically the same thing. The UPP is toxic. Poor Richard Lewis will also soon be gone.

Anthony Smith is motivated, and eager to start his career as a public servant. He approached Gaston to be on a Labour Party ticket last election and was rebuffed because the time wasn’t right, Anthony Smith crossed over to UPP and the rest is history. He was determined to win and become a politician.
Why if a political upstart recognizes that he is on a sinking ship after contesting their election for a Leadership position and decides to abandon said ship, the first and only retort is financial inducement?
Why is it so hard for D Giselle et al to take a realistic and honest assessment of their party, and recognize that their old strategy and formula for attracting young minds needs serious work.
The UPP are void of ideas and strategies that will permanently attract and retain people like an Anthony Smith, Dwayne George, Lamin Newton, Shanele Imhoff, Winston Williams etc.
When the likes of Serpent, Gladys Potter, Frantz DeFraudas, The Young gals & guys Shugy, Alister Thomas Pearl Quinn & Sean Bird remain within that party, it’s quite safe to say, they know they have absolutely nothing to offer the ABLP or they would have jumped off that failboat along time ago.
