Fisherman’s Fight for Justice: Family Assaulted in Violent Home Invasion Sparks Frustration with Police Response

3
In the wake of a violent home invasion last Wednesday, a local fisherman and his family are pushing for justice.
Allegedly targeted by a group of nine men, Lester Michael and his three-year-old daughter, Lydia, suffered injuries, and their property was extensively damaged.

Lydia endured chest injuries from an assault with a truck oil filter, diagnosed as blunt trauma.

Michael, arriving later with his daughter and son, claimed recognition of the assailants who were ransacking their home.

Fortunately, his pregnant wife had left before the attack.

Using a flare gun and a fishing radio, Michael alerted the Coast Guard, leading to police involvement. However, the delayed police response allowed the assailants to persist in damaging the property.

He alleged that the reporting officer at the St John’s Police Station neglected to take his statement.

  1. We need to call on the police commissioner to do something about these bad cops. They need to be taken out of the force. There is no place for them if the public cannot depend on them for justice and fighting crime. What then is their purpose?

    • Sideline the cops are the produce of a mental problem in this country. Once you close to the powers that be you catch it and it makes you say any chit you want and do or fail to da as you please.
Cops, like you and the current leadership, have taken authority unto yourselves, where you feel only contempt for the people of Antigua and mostly Barbuda.
