First Dose of Sinopharm Vaccine To Be Administered Thursday

The Ministry of Health, Wellness, and the Environment is pleased to announce the rollout of the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine. The first dose of the vaccine will be administered on Thursday 15th July 2021 to Chinese Nationals, residing in Antigua.

Public Vaccination using the Sinopharm vaccine will commence on Monday 19th July 2021 exclusively at the Multipurpose Cultural and Exhibition Center, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

 

The Ministry of Health, Wellness, and The Environment wishes to thank the Government and citizens of the People’s Republic of China for their generous donation of 20,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine.

The Sinopharm vaccine is approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine will continue to be administered to walk-ins for public vaccination at the Villa Polyclinic, weekdays from Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The general public is reminded that the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccination will also be offered on an appointment basis at two Health Centers that are open.

To receive an appointment date for the COVID-19 vaccine call the All Saints Health Centre, (268) 460-1003, and the Browne’s avenue Health Center, (268) 562-3076.

Identification cards must be presented at vaccination centers as well as vaccination cards for persons seeking their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

  1. Who’s next for this next experiment? All these vaccines and none can confirm which works and which have detrimental side effects and how many times you need to get jab.

  2. Public confidence is a hell of a thing whether you are in Antigua or America. Frankly, the PM dropped the ball by not being transparent with what vaccine he got and when. Who will believe that Chinese residents are the first to get the Sinopharm vaccine? That said, Antiguans and Barbudans should get vaccinated. Asking Dr. Simon your well learned Pathologist to stay in his lane is silly political talking and not a solution for covid. I encourage all citizens to use the power of their vote to ensure that they are not getting the Russian Sputnik in one arm, and the Chinese Sinopharm in the other. I get the economics in the country. I don’t get the country having more different manufacturers of vaccines than ingredients me granny Maudie used in she pepperpot.
