Prime Minister Gaston Browne says the list of essential services will be expanded to include financial institutions to provide limited cash services to the public on Thursday, April 9, 8am-12 noon.
Subsequently, limited cash service will be provided on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 8am to 12 noon, subject to all staff and customers wearing masks.
Other critical bank services will be offered remotely.
Other essential services include:
- Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda (to include Fire Service)
- Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force
- Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP)
- Customs Department and ancillary staff to include freight forwarders
- Immigration Department
- Emergency Medical Services and E-911 Services
- State Media
- Her Majesty’s Prison
- Air Traffic Control Service
- Metrological Services
- Trade Unions
- CareGivers e.g. nurses, orderlies, Doctors, Hospitals, Clinics and pharmacy workers
- Antigua Public Utilities Authority and any other utility/water providers
- Air and Sea Port Workers (Administration and other staff)
- Security Personnel (public and private)
- National Office of Disaster Services
- Medical and Paramedical Professions
- Removal, handling or burial of deceased persons or disposal of dead animals
- National Solid Waste Management Authority and all other departments for the collection, storage, treatment, and disposal of sewage, garbage or refuse
- Telecommunications providers
- Transportation Services to include LIAT 1974 Ltd. (Bus operators are to adequately protect themselves and patrons)

COVID19 strategy
1 Zone the country by establishing the parishes and Barbuda.
2 Create strategic check points maned by soldiers not police offices at borders for parishes.
3 No one is permitted to move outside of parish.

As I was saying in another post some pensioners and pubic servant will be getting paid by check and need to have their check changed. So therefore I was wondering how come banks were not included as essential services. And the most important thing is businesses that are open need to deposit their days earnings and pay their bills. Yes many banks offer online services for wire transfer but you need to deposit your daily earnings to fund your account. One thing that bank can now do is get with the program and ensure all their services are online. Even deposit of checks. buy issuing E-Checks
