The family of Carol Brizan is seeking the public’s assistance in finding her.
According to relatives, Brizan, 79, has been missing since Wednesday, June 8, at about 12 p.m., following a visit to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.
Reportedly, Brizan is not an Alzheimer’s patient. Relatives say she went to the hospital for a scheduled appointment; however, instead of waiting for one of her sons to pick her up, as planned, she left the facility on foot.
The south tower of a local mobile-service provider allegedly has picked up her phone signal in the Grays Farm area. Accordingly, persons who are out driving, walking or shopping are asked to be on the lookout for her.
The elderly woman, said to be 5’5″, was reportedly wearing a grey dress with a jeans jacket and carrying a yellow handbag.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact 775-6288, 725-2270, or the nearest police station.
Brizan is the second elderly woman, in the last three years, to have left the hospital and then be reported missing.
Hyacinth Gage has been lost since May 7, 2019, after she went to the hospital – then called the Mount St. John Medical Centre – for tests.
Searches were mounted across the island for the 74-year-old woman, but without success to this day.
Gage, reportedly a diabetic, was last seen on the American Road, near Townhouse MegaStore, at about 8:15 a.m. on the day she disappeared.
