A family escaped unscathed after fire caused significant damage to their two-storey house on Anchorage Road, state media reported on Sunday.
Firefighters were called shortly before noon and responded with two units from St John’s, one from All Saints; there was also assistance from a water truck from West Indies Oil Company.
A section of the roof collapsed and there was extensive damage to the ground floor.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and managed to prevent the entire structure being engulfed.
Investigations will seek to determine whether the fire started from work which was being carried out at the house.
