Remains found at Diamonds Estate may not be who authorities initially thought

REAL NEWS:

The human remains found on Monday, June 19, in the area of Diamonds Estate, will confirm one murder – but not of the person the Police first suspected, an inside source alleges.

While several families were waiting for the authorities to determine the identity of the decomposing corpse, one family in particular had been told to brace for the worst news.

Now, word reaching us is that – having gotten sight of the remains and the articles of clothing found with the body – that family has said definitively that the dead male is not their relative.

Rather, the source tells our Newsroom, all the evidence – in particular, the clothing and hairstyle of the deceased person – points to the corpse being that of another young man who went missing at a later date.

The source did not give permission for our Newsroom to publish the details of the identification, preferring to wait for the Police to rectify their error.

The mistake was made, the source says, because the latter report “was not taken seriously,” and so the discrepancies between this corpse and the person that officers expected it to be were overlooked.

Although the remains have been confirmed to be those of a male, the Police said, earlier, they will have to undergo forensic analysis to confirm the person’s identity.

  1. It would appear there was a rush to id the deceased.Haste surely makes waste and misinformation being given.

  2. This soap opera story would make sense if the police told the family that this is there son “John Doe”. Anything short of that can’t be any case of any mistaken identify. Plain and simple.

  3. If we were listening to American TV news, would we be so quick to judge… They would have apologized and we would have accepted if… We are always crying down our own… I’m so tired of us…

  4. There was no error. The police suspected who they think the Body was. The didn’t say it was dick, Tom or Harry.now the relatives say is not theirs then it broadens the police scope. Them things happen when families harassing the police to have a look at things which later cause problems

    • I am so glad there are mind readers in Antigua. You knew what the Police were thinking. When they consulted with the relatives about the body found at Diamond Estate.
