A family is facing charges after a viral fight involving a shovel on May 2 at Ball Beef, Liberta, over a job reference letter.
Jahvin Francis, Algernon Hodge, Everese Benjamin, and a minor are charged with assaulting Raymond Ledeatte.
Francis is also accused of injuring Ledeatte with a shovel and carrying a weapon unlawfully. Ledeatte faces charges for threats and assaulting Benjamin.
The dispute began over a job letter Ledeatte was supposed to write for his nephew, Jahvin Francis, to help him obtain a U.S. visa.
After Francis expressed displeasure on Facebook, Ledeatte confronted him, leading to a physical altercation.
Ledeatte reported the incident to Liberta Police Station with a head wound, claiming Francis had attacked him.
All defendants appeared in court on Friday and were granted bail.
