Expect diversions, single lane traffic and possible road closures on different sections of the roadway

NOTICE:

Date: Monday 17th May 2021

Amidst ongoing works on Sir Sydney Walling Hwy (SSWH) will result in diversions, single lane traffic and possible road closures on different sections of the roadway at different times of the day and night as part of ongoing works associated with the Government of Antigua and Barbuda Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project.

The Traffic Management Plan for the week: Monday 17th to Sunday 23rd May 2021 are as follow:

  1.    A diversion remains in effect on a section of SSWH between the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium and the North Sound Roundabout.

  1. Single lane Traffic on a section of SSWH, East of Pares Village, controlled by Flag Persons during the day time  in one section and by temporary Traffic lights in another section of the road at night time. The section with temporary traffic lights will remain single lane at nights while the section with Flag Persons during the day time will become two (2) lanes at night.

  1. Flag Persons will be on hand to provide traffic guidance with single lane traffic during daylight hours on SSWH between the Sugar Factory and the Turn off to Pigotts.

  1. There would be a possible short-term Road closure at Parham corner controlled by Flag Persons during the daytime only.

In other works elsewhere: 

On Valley Road North, work continues for the construction of a new culvert at Little Creek. As a result, a long-term diversion will remain in place. Road users are urged to proceed with caution when traveling in work zones.

  1. Some of these news articles need more visual arts showing the actual area it is a referring to. Most people understand what they’re reading from seeing the actual area or picture insert next to the text.
    It is good to see the article open with the road closure sign, but it need a picture of the divert area.

  2. I wonder how long this will take. They still can’t fix the bridge by Big Creek and that’s a small task compared to this.
