ABMS – Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services has issued an urgent Excessive Heat Warning from 7:30 am to 6 pm until Thursday.
The heat index is expected to reach a maximum of around 50 °C or 122 °F due to high temperatures, relatively high humidity, and light winds.
This dangerous combination poses health risks, especially for sensitive groups like the elderly, young children, and those with chronic illnesses.
Heat illnesses, including heat cramps, exhaustion, and stroke, are possible, and precautions are advised.
Stay cool, hydrated, and check on vulnerable individuals.
