Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley announced at a news conference moments ago that Royal Caribbean is to support St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the event of an explosive eruption.
Mottley told the news conference she spoke to her colleague Dr Ralph Gonsalves on the matter.
Mottley says the cruise ships were in Barbados for a few months now due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mottley revealed that she spoke to the directors of Royal Caribbean who did not hesitate to agree to assist.
The Barbados PM says Royal Caribbean will soon head SVG where the residents there are preparing for the eruption of the La Soufriere Volcano.
She assured the people of St Vincent that Barbados stands ready to assist.
