Entanglements, sexual promiscuity a lethal combination that could fuel community spread

Prime Minister Gaston Browne is once again calling for vigilance and for people to be responsible, to help prevent an outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.

“Complacency, indiscipline and if you have any form of sexual promiscuity is a lethal combination that could result in community spread,” Browne said on Pointe FM.

Since the first case in March, the country has to date recorded 101 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

“And I hope it will be a message for all of us including those involved in the frivolous parties,” Browne cautioned.

“But people continue to violate the health protocols and to put themselves, their family members and the rest of the population at risk,” he added.

The Prime Minister also warned that the spread of COVID could create a economic problem for the country when offices have to be closed.

“I also want to say to those who patronize those gyms, they have to be super careful. Within that gym environment we want individuals to be very careful,” he said.

  1. Yeah Gaston. Its all the sex….not your lax protocols like asking returning locals to self quarantine but allowing American tourists to walk freely around upon arrival….

    • Stupes! U people are so hyprocital! When the government first announced they would open back up in June and said that people would be placed in the government quaratine and charged $100.00 per day y’all make all kinda noise saying government wicked thrm broke ect. The government buckle and give u people ur way and let all “self quaratine” at home. Since now big people who cant follow simple instructions are walking all over town spreading the virus u want to blame the government for lack of protocals? Give me an ibprofin. Big people cant take a little responsibilty for their own lives? Y’all must be policed into following simple instructions? Stupes!!

Perish the thought! Forgive me Father for I have sinned.

  3. WHAT does the Prime Minister mean by you have to be super careful in the gym is that enough ? I live overseas and I’ve been in Àntigua for 2 months n refuse to work out in any gym . They wear no mask in the gyms n impossible to keep a good distance from customers OH I’M SORRY THE CUSTOMER WIPE THE MACHINE DOWN BEFORE MOVING TO THE NEXT ONE . I’m a 5 /6 days aweek gym rat n I haven’t worked since March . THERE’S NO WAY ON EARTH I’M GONNA GO IN A GYM ARMED WITH A SPRAY BOTTLE N A CLOTH HUFFING N PUFFING IN EACH OTHER FACE. EVERY DAY I DRIVE BY THE GYM THE PARKING LOT IS FILLED TO CAPACITY. I know it’s difficult to work out in a gym with a mask it would be for me too but boy that’s one hellova risk I rather do with out.
