Between today and Monday residents will know the results of 11 more COVID-19 tests .
This follows one week of no positive results.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne says “let’s give thanks because the truth is it could have been worst.”
He is hoping that “we would have a similar outcome for the additional tests that were sent yesterday.”
Browne says testing will continue and should be increased next week with the provision of local testing.
The prime minister also reported that in the last week there has been a reduction in the number of people going to the hospital with COVID-19 symptoms.
Of the three people currently at the hospital, one is expected to be released soon, the other two who are on ventilators are expected to be removed from ventilators and are expected to make a full recovery.
Three people have recovered from COVID-19 in Antigua while three have died. There are currently 17 active cases of the virus here.
Browne says residents should not become complacent.
