Journalist Elesha George has joined ABS as a senior news producer and reporter, following her departure from the Observer Media Group.
Originally from Dominica, George built her reputation in Antigua and Barbuda with her environmental reporting and now runs the online platforms Island Press Box and Wadadli Unplugged. Colleagues described her as an invaluable presence in the newsroom.
She is joined at ABS by Samantha Simon, former social media manager at Observer, who now serves as a reporter and social media coordinator.
The moves reflect a broader trend of experienced journalists exiting the once-prominent Observer Media Group.

congratulations to the girls. I always wondered how a professional like George stayed at Obsever. Good you dashed to a place you can grow
“………The once prominent……….”???
Observer is still very prominent.
It is now the breeding ground for journalists.
Please do not politicize the move of the two seasoned journalists.
The are moving to ABS in the hope that the station can become more balanced.
The are moving so that the political narrative from ABS will be wiped out and the station will be run as a professional media house and not a propaganda room.
Pleas give Observer its flowers for planting and growing such brilliant journalists.
Anyone from any other media house is coming with political agenda or brought in by a politician.
Elisha and Samantha are coming on merit!!!!!!!!
Elesha and Samantha are making big moves! Great to see women journalists thriving and stepping into bigger roles. ABS just leveled up.
Congratulations to Elesha may God continue to control your steps 🚶♀️ 🙏 my girl. Congratulations again.
@Straight shooter
Observer has gone to the latrine shit hole!!!
Mr. Derrick must be grooting out his grave to see the mess that his pride and joy has decayed into.
A cackling, cussing, hormonal broad, like the one cussing on Greenbay hill is what Observer has descended into.
Voice of the People has gone to the stray dogs by Cooks dump.
A hormonal, ungrateful man-jan with a fake pompous accent pretending to be a radio host.
Like Kieron Murdoch and Darren Matthew Ward, these 2 ladies fled the TOXIC work environment. Let the fat, slabby, bellicose bully have shim way in Joan bingo bag
Congratulations ladies 👏
What journalist, the last journalist Antigua have was the late Tim Hector, the reason why the derricks imported journalist from outside is because they knew the Antiguan journalist could develop their craft to it’s full potential because they are scared of the governing ALP bird government dictatorship at the time, so they brought on Julian Rodgers and chelston lee another’s that lift the vei from the eyes of Antiguans and caused a change in 2004, this present day observer radio for 2025 with the crop of journalist who are young and lack the institutional knowledge and economically challenge and scared of the ALP government has set us back once more, so if the journalist from observer go over to work with the government media it is understandable financially and they were scared to use ability as journalist anyway, so a government propaganda stooge is in order.
In the vissitude of time all these departure of people from upp and observer media will create the dynamic needed to topple the ALP government and a new government will emerge.

Congratulations Ladies. I certainly hope that they are able to work and report independently as they should and void of any state pressure to always slant stories one way or another. I always believe that journalists should be able to report on events truthfully, sincerely and honestly regardless where they work without any form of censorship
Platinum Fm look at what abs doing if you want to grow. Porch the hitz Fm dj’s and on air host talent nf over deh.

Congratulations Elisha and Samantha! Great job
AND WE CARE WHY? how is this even news. So I resign from my old job and started a new one whose business is that. CHUPSSSSSSSSS
Female staff are running from sexusl harassment. That is the real reason. If any real investigative reporters existed in Antigua this would have been public long ago.
@Biggs
Sexual harassment from who? These don’t fit the age range that Magic like. Plus he comes on in the afternoon with Dave, so it can’t be him.

Throughout the world journalists or any new reporters are one time in their carrier faced with the fact that, you either toe the company line or you quit. There is nothing called your free opinion if you are working for someone. You cannot work against your boss and expect him or her to pay you as well. Have you notice the reporting lately of the USA Media on the Gaza Israeli war. Hardley any reporting. You have to tune in to Al Jazeera if you want to get wome of that news. But when it comes to reporting on the Russia Ukraine war you can bet your life they will report any bombing from Russia. The latest casualty on MSNBC was Joy Reed who was ousted from MSNBC

So you can wish whatever you want, but the compnay you work for, sets the rules and policies. Observer not to long ago had Daren Matthew-Ward and Keron Murdoch leave becasue they didn’t want to toe the line. ABS has their policies and rules and all reporters have to adhere to that or leave.
