Sixty-three-year-old Meryl Chiddick was sentenced to 42 years in prison today for the murder Liberta farmer, Conroy Andrew.
Andrew was gunned down on his farm on November 10, 2014.
The court heard detailed evidence of the killing from 23-year-old Aundrey Joseph who went with Chiddick to the scene.
Joseph testified Chiddick led him in some bushes and they eventually arrived at the yard of a tall black rastaman.
He said Chiddick told him to wait as the older man moved toward the rastaman, who had a cutlass in his hand.
Joseph testified he soon heard several gunshots before Chiddick ran back and said he killed the man.
He also recalled seeing the deceased’s body rolling on the ground.
Joseph, who was also charged with murder pleaded guilty to manslaughter before testifying against Chiddick at the trial.
Several other witnesses testified seeing the convict in the area on the day of the murder.

Sad way to finish the rest of your life in prison just really sad all because of greed….this i believe is not his first murder
I am not perfect but this is what ‘thou shall not covet thy neighbor’ mean which comes with consequences. The judge should have said, “Life in prison”, instead of “42 years.” I hope this sentenced will sent a clear message to the society and those who think that they can commit murder and receive a slap on their risk.
just like the policeman who receive a slap on the wrist for gunning down the lady on her gas station job.
