Elderly man says he was abused at government-run elderly care facility

A resident of the Fiennes Institute said he was attacked by workers at the government-run elderly care facility in February.

“I was ambushed by three workers here. Two workers held both of my hands and the third one hit me on the head with a steel, get me three stitches on my head,” Vernon Browne.

The female worker who allegedly injured the elderly man was reportedly fired from the facility and police were said to be investigating the incident.

Walton Edwards, Master of the Fiennes Institute, who reportedly confirmed there was an altercation, said the terminated worker sustained a broken arm during the incident.

The elderly man reportedly said the two remaining workers continue to taunt him.

“Because you are in the poor house, you are in the dooms man, nobody cares about you, you know, and I don’t like that because I’m not rich but I can take care of myself,” Browne insisted.
