Yesterday, a tragic incident unfolded as an elderly Canadian woman reportedly lost her life in a drowning incident at one of the country’s beaches.
The 86-year-old tourist, just two days into her vacation, went for a swim at the beach of the resort where she was staying around 11 on Sunday morning.
Encountering difficulties, she was quickly taken to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where she was subsequently pronounced dead.
The woman and her husband had arrived on the island on February 2nd.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident, awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of her untimely death.

The amount of things happening on this government is downright shameful.

Because of all the building along our shores it has eroded the coast line of some of our beaches. The ocean seems beautiful and safe untill you get in and start sinking in the sand, only to find you can’t get out. Especially for the elderly. Signs should be posted.
