Egg-stra! Egg-stra! Egg Prices Scramble Upward!

7

Starting Monday, September 16, the Antigua & Barbuda Layer Farmers Association will raise the price of white and brown eggs.

The cost per dozen will increase from $12.00 to $14.00, with a case now priced at $420.00, up from $360.00.

The association attributes the price adjustment to higher input costs.

  1. Not so long ago we we told of lower feed price which would have lowered the cost 🤔 we never got the lower price so they kept all the profits now it gone back up they want to kill people

  2. Yard fowls are everywhere and their quality of egg is better. The Egg Layers Farmers will eventually price themselves out of the market. Importing eggs got be cheaper and the government might have to grant license to import eggs to protect our tourism industry.

  3. This is what happens when you give groups a monopoly. They will use any excuse to raise prices and pocket more money.
Competition is healthy and in the best interest of the consumer. I gave an analysis as to how many eggs a hotel would need. And now when they will increase the price, they are effecting the cost of the running of the hotel. These are very shortsighted people thinking only of themselves.
