The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is expressing sadness at the passing of 12-year-old Roosevelt Browne.
The Mary E. Pigott Primary student passed away on Thursday while battling severe burns he sustained from a fire at a house in Lower Ottos last week.
In a statement, Director of Education Clare Browne outlined, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved. We send heartfelt condolences to the parents, relative, and friends of young Mr. Roosevelt Browne, who from all indications was someone who was appreciated by his family, teachers, and peers.”
The Director noted that the Ministry also extends sympathy to the principal, staff, and students of Mary E. Pigott Primary who are all trying to come to grips with Browne’s passing.
On Thursday, the school’s Facebook page was updated following the news of Roosevelt’s passing. The post read: ““There are no words that can describe this pain. Your parting has left a void in the hearts of those who you have touched. Your quiet personality and your beautiful smile will be missed by all especially by your classmates and your teachers. Roosevelt, you’ve gained your angelic wings so soar on until we meet again. The saddest word, goodbye.”
