Dwyer Astaphan is contradicting claims by Prime Minister Gaston Browne that he received an apology from the former St. Kitts politician and media commentator.
On Tuesday, February 1, an online media house reported Browne’s claim that Astaphan had apologized to him in private – saying that the attorney would not do so publicly – and accused the Prime Minister of being thin-skinned.
However, REAL News is reliably informed that Astaphan denies making any apology to Browne, either implicitly or explicitly.
Since the story was published, Astaphan also claims that he contacted Browne, asking when the purported apology took place. Reportedly, the Prime Minister has not answered the question.
This saga began on January 16, when Astaphan served as a panelist on Observer Radio’s Big Issues programme.
Along with Akaash Maharaj, he was thoroughly disparaged by the Prime Minister for comments made about a high-priced rental contract between Browne and Victor Singh, the principal of the Western Imperial Special Economic Zone.
Browne accused Astaphan of attacking the Antigua Labour Party and his family and of meddling in this country’s politics.
Meanwhile, many residents say the Prime Minister’s claims are not credible, given his history of “making up stories” about persons he considers political opponents.
Most of these assertions have been denied, with Browne being called “a liard” in one instance and failing to offer any credible evidence to support his claim.
A lab worker laughs and reminds our Newsroom of the Prime Minister’s claim, last year, that he had already received a COVID-19 booster shot – even before the third dose of the drug had been released.
“You can’t trust nutten that man say!” a public-sector employee declares.
“Gaston believe that everybody out here stupid; but we can add two and two and know it don’t make five,” he says.

Saying that Gaston Browne is a liar is a given. What is concerning is that he is too idle. He should be focused on doing the people’s business. No wonder investors don’t take this guy seriously. He still trying to be the bully from Point. He is just pathetic. Focus on advancing this country.
